Alison Jiear: Under the Influence

Originally from Australia, Alison is perhaps most well-known for the pole-dancing role in Jerry Springer the Opera which earned her an Olivier Award nomination. She has over the years enjoyed a varied and successful career as an actress, session singer and concert artist. Classically trained with a longing to sneak out of opera chorale to jam with the jazz combo, Alison has never been one to settle in the performance of any one musical genre.

Alison is most at home when performing as herself. Her latest one woman show Under The Influence will certainly make the audience feel at home also as she celebrates familiar songs by the many artists who have influenced her over the years. Whilst embracing Ella Fitzgerald, Dusty Springfield and composers such as Burt Bacharach, Joni Mitchell and the more contemporary, Alison is sure to put her own twist on each piece whilst ensuring an evening of first class music making.

Alison will be supported by Dave Arch (piano), Adam Goldsmith (guitar), Steve Pearce (bass) and Mark Fletcher (drums)
