Part of St. James Studio Live Music Nights
Having taken the USA and Australia by storm in the first part of 2013, for her extended season, Barb Jungr for the first time brings 4 of her uniquely styled evenings and albums together to the St James’ Studio. Jungr has been called “probably the best interpreters of Jacques Brel and Bob Dylan on this angst ridden planet” (The Village Voice). “A fearless iconoclast who who dives into the deepest waters of popular song to wrest exotic treasure from the ocean floor’ (The New York Times). “Touched with genius” (The Times Square Chronicles). The Wall Street Journal said of her Stockport to Memphis album “every singer in New York could leaner from her”. Acclaimed on three continents and an international recording artist, Barb Jungr’s capacity to inspire, thrill and amaze is not to be missed. On all shows Jungr is accompanied by virutoso musicians Simon Wallace on piano and Neville Malcolm on double bass.
Barb Jungr sings River - a celebration of life through the lyrics of river songs. This collection blew the Times and the Stage off their seat in January 2013, Jungr’s collection of the redemption and cleansing nature of the metaphorical and real, river.

Musical Theatre Review for Barb’s performance of The New American Songbook
“It certainly doesn’t hurt that apart from a terrific voice, outstanding timing and a top register that never wavers, Jungr also has a winning sense of humour and delightful linking patter that makes an evening in her company an unusual pleasure and a true eye-opener.” Jeremy Chapman
