Part of St. James Studio Classical Music Series
Chisato has emerged as one of the inspirational piano soloists of the East and West. She was born in Germany and her early years were spent in Japan. She came to England and went to school in London, and on to Oxford University to read music, followed by two years at the Royal Academy of Music, studying under Hamish Milne. She now performs all over the world.
Chisato exemplifies the very best of next generation of world-class classical musicians, one that captures the hearts of audiences from the East and West, and casts a spell with her exquisite interpretation. Her playing instantly enchants the ear of the audience with its remarkable virtuosity. Whether it is a romantic Chopin Nocturne or a fiery Prokofieff Concerto, once you have heard her hands dancing over the keyboard you will want to hear her again and again and you will understand why she has been compared to Vladimir Horowitz.
Chisato made her debut at the Southbank Centre, Purcell Room, London in January 2007 as a part of the Park Lane Group series of concerts. In the same year she made her Wigmore Hall debut to great acclaim. Her recording of works by Rachmaninoff, Medtner, Scriabin and Liapunov was released in 2011 under a Quartz Music Label (QTZ 2028). In May 2010, she played to a full house at the Victoria Concert Hall, Singapore delighting all with a fine Russian repertoire.
For her second St James Theatre concert her performance will include works by Bach-Gedike, Chopin and Rachmaninoff, displaying the varied styles of piano repertoire.
