The Kamao Quintet
The Kamao Quintet take their inspiration from the legacy of the great Django Reinhardt and traditional Manouche and Romani (gypsy) music. Fronted by singer and guitarist Jean de Talhouet, the band includes clarinet (Dave Shulman) and/or cello (Francesca Ter-Berg), violin (Sharon Subarrao), gypsy guitars (Dave Kelbie), and double bass (Ruth Goller), creating a beautiful and rich sound that complements the vocals with haunting and lyrical harmonies. From the saddest gypsy ballads, to the liveliest waltzes, including original compositions, the guitars growl and purr warmly beneath captivating melodic instrumental improvisations. Manouche music beautifully combines Jazz with the warmth and liveliness of the Gyspy culture of Western Europe.
Rossetti-Bonell/Mehta Duo
Eclectic muicians, Dario and Magnus have worked in many genres including Hans Zimmer, Sting, Ballet Rambert, John Williams, Owiny Sigoma Band, Royal Opera House Soloists, Pete Wareham’s Melt Yourself Down and many others. The duo will venture into a diverse set of old and new music inspired by their own heritage and random contemporary influences such as Guinga, Ellroy and Piñero.
“DRB rises to the occasion with some breathtaking feats of unshowy skill in music that needs virtuosity of the spirit as much as the fingers” - BBC MUSIC MAGAZINE
