This is a workshop about encouragement!
You may have seen a new play at St. James Theatre or elsewhere and thought you may be able to write one yourself?
But how do you start? Now is your chance, as this workshop teaches the basic steps to getting started on writing a new play.
You might have a story in mind, or you may want to come along to learn how playwrights search for ideas.
Through writing exercises we share the basics of creating strong characters, interesting settings and the structure that will teach you how.
No matter what your age, background or influences, you may discover new creative potential in yourself to bring your unique storytelling voice alive with a new play for the stage!
Workshop Leader Phil Setren (London New Play Festival) makes it easy for you.
“His sessions are both serious and fun. The exercises provide a writers’ imagination with powerful impulses that last for weeks. If you wish to be inspired – GO!” –D. Devandani, participant
