Part of St. James Studio Cabaret Weekends
West End actor and renowned super- tenor Stuart Matthew Price brings his much anticipated new cabaret “The Roles I’ll Never Play” to the studio stage at The St. James this Spring.
A light hearted and classy evening of music and song from the some of the world’s greatest musicals, including Les Miserables, Sunset Boulevard, and Carousel. Stuart takes you on a journey through styles and genres, giving you his take, for possibly the only time, on the songs he’s always wanted to sing, but never can.
Stuart’s collaboration with some of the biggest names in the industry has earned him great international acclaim as an actor, vocalist and composer. As a performer, Stuart made his London debut creating the role of the Young Soldier and Frankie Epps in the critically acclaimed production of PARADE at the Donmar Warehouse. He recently appeared as Julian in DEAR WORLD at the Charing Cross Theatre opposite Tony Award winning Betty Buckley and under the direction of Gillian Lynne. Other work includes Dallas in SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS (Arcola Theatre), Frank in MACK AND MABEL (Southwark Playhouse) and Stix in the original West End company of SHREK THE MUSICAL (Theatre Royal Drury Lane).
So join Stuart for this special one off event featuring the roles he’ll never play and the songs he’ll never get to sing again.
Running Time: 120 minutes
“Stuart Matthew Price is one of the best singers around at the moment” - Mark Shenton (The Stage, Sunday Express)
“In these days of slick generic show voices Stuart Matthew Price stands out for his individual and excitingly immediate sound. This is a voice which looks you straight in the eye and tells it like it is with every song.” - Edward Seckerson (The Independent)
“People just don’t sing like Stuart does, and even great singers don’t manage to convey the emotional depth that Stuart effortlessly summons” - Jason Robert Brown (Tony Award Winning Composer of PARADE)
