From Berlin to Paris to Broadway – a journey of jazz music, embracing swinging sounds and sultry ballads with your vocal leader Tina May, features songs by Kurt Weill, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Leiber and Stoller and many more.
The great divas from stage and screen, Lotte Lenya, Edith Piaff, Judy Garland and Peggy Lee, help create this delicious cocktail with a taste of Weimar, the Folies Bergeres & Broadway. Yes we celebrate them all.
Tina May, no stranger to St James Studio, following her entertaining performance in the 2014 Saturday Jazz Divas series, returns with her vocal dexterity plus her engaging & joyful personality. This makes her one of the most in demand jazz artist both here and across the world.
The vocal delights of Tina May are accompanied by the swinging trio of Nikki Isles-piano, Julie Walkington – double bass and Karen Street- accordion.
