Grim’s Dyke Opera return to the St. James with highlights from The Pirates of Penzance, The Yeoman of the Guard, The Mikado, Trial by Jury, Patience, H.M.S.Pinafore and more.
Grim’s Dyke Opera perform regularly in the beautiful Victorian home of W.S.Gilbert situated on the hill near Harrow. After Gilbert’s untimely death, Lady Gilbert announced that any future owner must continue to promote the Gilbert & Sullivan operas and a covenant was written into the deeds. Grim’s Dyke Opera was formed to fulfil that obligation.
The house is now run as Grim’s Dyke Hotel and for the past 20 years the company presents fully costumed Operas paired with Dinner, in the delights of Mr Gilbert’s Music Room.
Following their acclaimed sell out performance at St. James Studio in 2014, Grim’s Dyke Opera return for another evening of Gilbert’s witty, engaging lyrics, coupled with Sullivan’s exhilarating music, performed by the very best Gilbert and Sullivan experts.
With Anne-Louise Straker – Soprano, Victoria Whittaker – Soprano, Barry Clark – Tenor, Clive Bebee – Baritone, James Irving – Baritone and Gabrielle-Liana Flatt - Piano.
