13 July 2013

The multi award winning a cappella musical comedy group Barbershopera present The Three Musketeers reinventing the classic adventure from Alexandre Dumas. Featured on BBC Radio 4 the company present this ingenious delight combining brilliant close harmony singing with swashbuckling adventure suitable for all ages.

Highly lauded for their innovative lyrics, wildly delightful storytelling and phenomenal close harmony singing audiences are left cheering, holding their sides with laughter and calling out for more. If this is your first time seeing them or whether you’re a seasoned fan for one night only, catch them while you can.

This is the fourth full-length musical production from writing partners Rob Castell and Tom Sadler which played to sell-out audiences in Plymouth during Christmas 2012. With her village under threat of destruction at the hands of the villainous Cardinal Richtea, young Nicole D’Artagnan must head to Paris to win support of the King’s Musketeers. Murky undertakings plague the progress of our heroine and her new-found trio of friends as they battle corruption, femme fatales and the cultural confusions brought on by a quest to England.

Barbershopera have won six Musical Theatre Matters awards for their UK and International touring work and The Three Musketeers premieres this summer at the International Musical Theatre Festival in South Korea. Discovered at the Edinburgh Festival in 2008 the company have grown to feature on Radio 4, E4 and in the West End as well as European Touring.
