Vin’s Night In!

Running Time: 2 hours approx with an interval

The nights are drawing in, the central heating thermostats are clicking on, and small children are starting to be nice to their parents in a bid to get exactly what they want for Christmas. To top it off, Vin’s Night In is back at the St James and we are mightily happy about it!

To warm or cockles, we have a fantastic night of LIVE music from talented up ‘n’ coming artists, a peppering of comedy, a drawing competition with prizes and of course… Jelly Babies.

The line up includes fabulous funksters Fudge and the Frequency; the epic and emotional Eli Stone; superb songwriter Louis Dunford; the gorgeous vocals of Harriet and comedic brilliance of Marie Lawrence.

So, pop on a cardie and slippers and join Vin in the studio for a brilliant and cosy night in.

Fudge and the Frequency

Fudge and The Frequency are a 10 piece act who’ve created their own genre – futuristic funk. They count Stevie Wonder amongst their fans and are endorsed by Roland and the world’s leading edge music and visual technology company, Soundisplay. Having sold out headline gigs at iconic venues across London and Paris, from the Jazz Café to the Roof Gardens, where venue management described them as, “the best live act we’ve ever had here”, they are set to tell the world to, “Wake the funk up”. Their loyal army of fans have already christened themselves the “Freqs”. Their next single, “24 Hours”, is due for release in early 2015.

Harriet

A heady mixture of genres from bygone eras of the 60s and 70 is clearly reflected in both Harriet’s voice and creative style but she also draws inspiration from current artists and performers like Adele and Lana Del Rey amongst others.

Harriet first caught the attention of producer Steve Anderson (Kylie, Leona Lewis. Susan Boyle) after hearing one of her rough demos and falling in love with her voice. Since then, She has been developing her skills as a songwriter, alongside Steve and a host of many other song writing talents, including Judie Tzuke, Ed Harcourt and Marcella Detroit.

Harriet’s debut EP, ‘What’s Mine Is Yours’ was released in August this year and her song, ‘First And Last’ co-written with Steve Anderson and Judie Tzuke premiered on Paul O’Grady’s Radio 2 Sunday evening show and was subsequently played by Graham Norton on his Radio 2 show.

Louis Dunford

Louis has already been dubbed as ‘one to watch’ and is creating a massive buzz in the music industry. Already a legend in the world of SBTV with tens of thousands of views to his name, the buzz well deserved. His extraordinary piano, guitar and singing skills are matched by his clever songwriting, all delivered with his signature cockney yet melodic voice and refreshingly honest lyrics. Sometimes described as crude and hilarious, his songs are always brutally honest and have been said to define the childhoods of a generation.

Eli Stone

Whilst on the beaches of south Greece, songwriter and front man of Eli Stone penned a beautifully crafted, emotional yet melancholy album. On returning home, his songs gained support from likeminded musicians before they were noticed by an acclaimed producer from New York who saw a chance to help shape the sound of what has become Eli Stone.

After travelling to Woodstock, New York – Bob Dylan and The Band’s old stomping ground, Eli Stone recorded the debut album.

The record is blissfully melancholy and fearlessly explores the depths of human emotion.

Even in its infancy, the band has attracted attention from bloggers such as the Music Ninja, and Radio One DJ Zane Lowe. This winter, the band will be hitting the road and showcasing the album and we’re dead chuffed to have them pop in to Vin’s Night In!
