JBGB Events and St. James Theatre present

Claire Martin & Joe Stilgoe: Just the Two of Us

Running Time: 2 hour 10 minutes including an interval

Two of the UK’s finest performers - Claire Martin and Joe Stilgoe, come together with delightful songs, duets, tales and anecdotes for an evening of unadulterated pleasure, with a guarantee of a most entertaining Sunday night out.

Following her debut at St. James Studio for a wonderful sell out concert to an enthusiastic audience on the opening night of the 2015 EFG London Jazz Festival, Claire Martin makes a speedy return to Palace Street Westminster, this time to the larger St.James Theatre. Growing up in a musical family she quickly embraced the music of Judy Garland and Ella Fitzgerald, developing her unique style that has won BBC Jazz Awards Best Vocalist and a 6-times winner of best singer at the British Jazz Awards, and her OBE in 2011. Her performing credits span Europe, Asia and the USA appearing at New York’s Lincoln Centre. Her 18 albums for Linn records are must haves in any collection.

Joe Stilgoe is a man of many talents. He is a pianist and occasional drummer, a jazz musician and a singer. He is an actor, a comedian, a star of stage – most recently in High Society at The Old Vic – and small screen. He has a way with a familiar style of music that he somehow makes sound new, fresh, and vibrant. He is a stalwart of the live circuit, and a perennially hot ticket. He plays locally, and internationally. He’s made albums, the second of which, 2012’s We Look to the Stars, went to number one in Amazon’s jazz chart. His most recent album “New Songs for Old Souls” is his best yet.
