Crouch Hold Pause Engage
A new play by Robin Soans
Directed by Max Stafford-Clark
One in the series of Out of Joint Rehearsed Readings in conjunction with the run of This May Hurt a Bit
Bridgend is known as the hometown and first club of international rugby star Gareth “Alfie” Thomas, the first openly gay Rugby Union player. The town, and surrounding county, long a heartland of rugby and industry, has also been portrayed in the media as a centre of teenage suicide.
Based on extensive interviews with Alfie and many people from the town, Crouch Hold Pause Engage tells their stories in a play about loss, change and hope.
Robin Soans’ acclaimed documentary plays include Talking to Terrorists, Mixed Up North and The Arab Israeli Cookbook.
Crouch Touch Pause Engage is being developed by Out of Joint and National Theatre Wales.
